Items purchased at JCPenney are eligible for exchange or refund of the purchase price on the original method of payment. Some rules apply. Orders purchased with Pay Pal will be refunded as a check to the customer’s billing address.

Items purchased at JCPenney are eligible for exchange or refund at the gift receipt price in the form of a jcp gift card.

Items purchased at JCPenney are eligible for exchange or refund at the item’s lowest selling price within the last 45 days issued in the form of a merchandise return voucher.

 

Valid photo identification is required for all non-receipted returns or exchanges.  Information from the ID will be retained in a secured company-wide database to monitor the number of un-receipted returns. jcpenney accepts the following IDs for returns: U.S., Puerto Rican, Canadian and Mexican Driver’s License, U.S. State IDs, Puerto Rican IDs, Canadian Province IDs, U.S. Military IDs, U.S. Laser Visa, Passports, Matrícula Consular Card, Puerto Rican Voter Identification Card, and Mexican Voter Registration Card. JCPenney reserves the right to limit returns or exchanges without a valid receipt.

For purchases and returns made in the states of CT and MA: Customers must return any purchase within 90 days of the purchase date to receive a refund of the sales tax. Returns made after 90 days of the purchase date will receive the refund of the purchase price excluding the sales tax.

 

Furniture: All furniture (including mattresses) must be returned within 30 days of the delivery date with a sales receipt and will be charged a  restocking fee:

  • $75 restocking fee:  recliners/dining chairs/ottomans
  • $125 restocking fee:  furniture/mattresses

Refunds will not be issued without a receipt. Furniture delivery fees will not be refunded. Special Orders must be cancelled by the next business day following the transaction to receive a full refund of the deposit. Furniture Special Orders cannot be returned after delivery and acceptance.

 

Appliances: All appliances must be returned in 30 days of the delivery date with a sales receipt and will be charged a 15% restocking fee. Refunds will not be issued without a receipt. Appliance delivery fees will not be refunded.

Fine jewelry: All Fine Jewelry must be returned within 60 days of the purchase date with a  sales receipt. Refunds will not be issued without a receipt. Fine Jewelry special orders cannot be returned after delivery and acceptance. All watches must be returned within 60 days of purchase date with a sales receipt, unworn, and unaltered in original condition with packaging. Watch special orders cannot be returned after delivery and acceptance.

Body jewelry: All sales are final for Body Jewelry (including Belly Rings, Nose Rings, Eyebrow  Rings, Captive Hoops, Ear Tapers, Ear Plugs, Circular Horseshoes) and are not returnable as indicated on jcp.com.  Our policy ensures that body jewelry has not been worn or tried on.

Small electrics and electronics: Small electrics and electronics must be returned within 60 days of the purchase date with a sales receipt. Refunds will not be issued without a receipt. Merchandise must be returned in its original packaging and with all accompanying manuals and accessories.

Special occasion dresses: These dresses must be returned in their original condition with the green return tag in place.

Sports fan shop: Items purchased at jcp sports fan shop are eligible for a refund of the purchase price on the original method of payment. Shipping charges are non-refundable with the exception of damaged or defective merchandise. Using the pre-paid shipping label will ensure that a full refund is issued to the customer when damaged or defective merchandise is returned. In the case of general dissatisfaction or customer changed mind, the amount of $5.50 will be deducted from your refund when the included pre-paid shipping label is used.

Styling salon: Salon Appliances must be returned within 60 days of the purchase date with the a sales receipt. Refunds will not be issued without a receipt.

Sephora at JCPenney: Items purchased at Sephora on JCPenney are eligible for a refund of the purchase price on the original method of payment. Shipping charges are non-refundable with the exception of damaged or defective merchandise. Using the pre-paid shipping label will ensure that a full refund is issued to the customer when damaged or defective merchandise is returned. The item(s) may be returned by mail only.  

Optical: Custom-made eyewear and unopened contact lenses can be returned for a full refund within 24 hours of customer acceptance. Within 60 days of customer acceptance, we will exchange custom eyewear and unopened contact lenses for product of equal or lesser value. If you are unsatisfied with your purchase. Opened contact lenses may not be returned. Eye Exams are not refundable.
